Friday Finish!

Hi friends!
Another beautiful day!
Cold!!!!
That binding looks good with that quilt doesn't it?
I finished it and thank goodness for sunshine!

Miss Brailey has a quilt!

The sun was shining so bright i couldn't see my pictures until i got back in the house.

You can see the two squares that i got next to each other but i think it looks pretty good as it is! Now all i like is zigzagging the binding on the Blanket and it's all ready for the new Great Grand.

But she can wait until April just so she will be fine and healthy!

Hope the Mother likes it! This will be second grandchild of our youngest daughter and the mother says this is the last!

Miss Brailey's quilt

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
After i finished quilting this quilt i looked for something to bind it with.

I found some cute Pink with little hearts that just goes with the hearts i quilted all over it .

Then i spread out on the bed and trimmed all around the quilt being careful not to cut the binding.

All i like now is the hand stitching the binding down all the way around.  Then i will be through with this quilt!

Wait i forgot the label!!!

I will have to dig around to find my labels.

weekend work

Hi friends!
I quilted it with hearts all over!

About half way i had to refill the bobbin and i sewed all the way across before

looking and it was a mess! I spent a lot of time taking all that out. I hate it when it does that! But at least it wasn't the whole quilt.

I love it! Now to  find a pink for the binding and cut that out and sew it on!

Miss Brailey's quilt

Hi friends!
Brother's rest is over!
Got it out so i could quilt Miss Brailey's quilt.

I am thinking about hearts on it, just hope it looks like hearts when i get through with it.  They have taken the mother out of work until she is born but they say she is doing just fine, Just wants Momma to hold on to her as long as possible.

Prayers needed!

Son in law came by yesterday , he is convinced that she is going to be a boy

 If she is she will have pink stuff!

With that quilt and this blanket and 

And these pink hats and bib that Dawn made her.

Now this pink and green crochets blanket  might could be used with a boy but it's doubtful.

Miss Brailey's quilt

Hi friends!
Beautiful day  but not as warm!
I spread my backing after sewing it together then my battening and spray baste one half of the quilt at a time.

Then did the other side the same way.

Them trimmed off all the sides leaving a couple of inches just in case.

Now it's all ready to be quilted!By Friday it should be ready for the binding. I will trim it again after i sew the binding on. and before i hand sew it down.

Flimsy [Braileys quilt]

Hi friends!

Sunny day!

I worked on Brailey's quilt yesterday and added some more to it.

I laid them out to see if i could keep to many Dora's from being to close! And the same print being next to each other. But couldn't find a way to avoid that all together.

I had to keep Dora standing in the same direction!  I worked it around this way and that and finally settled on when i wanted every thing.

It measured 40 by 54 and that was to narrow so i made some more blocks.

That was more like it!  I wanted it big enough for a toddler bed because one day she will be sleeping in a bigger bed.

Final measurement was  48 by 54.  That should be big enough for a few years! Of course when i wash it the measurement will be a little smaller.

Brailey's blanket and Friday finish

Hi friends!
This is my finish, a big teddy bear blanket for Brailey!

I though this fabric was so cute!

She is  not due for three more months and she already has two blankets a nearly quilt and one bib and two little hats Thanks to my good friend Dawn.

Dawn made her the  hats and  bib.

Her quilt is still right there, i worked on her a blankets yesterday so i would be finished with one thing anyway.

Brailey's Quilt

Hi friends
Another dreary day!
I started putting blocks together yesterday, they don't show up on the bed so the ironing board will have to do. It very hard to match points when things slip when you are cutting. One day i will get me some thing that cuts the squares for me.

See it's hard to pick it up because of the pinks in the other quilt.

I should have a flimsy by the end of the week, i know last week i said the same thing but i am taking things easier this year, just hard to slow my self down..

This was supper last night!

It has been years since i had used my bread maker but it came out really good.

I took it out 10 minutes early so the crust wasn't to thick.

I have most of the doubles sewed into 4 patches now, once i get them all together i will see whether i need to make more or not.

Love the little "Dora" ones!

This one i sewed two blocks together just to see how they are going to look.

Maybe i can get some work done on it today.

Brailey's Quilt

I have started sewing together 4 patches on Brailey quilt maybe i will have the time to make a flimsy this weekend.

It shouldn't take long!

A good friends of mine sent me these little hats and a bib for Brailey too. Blogging makes for some wonderful friends.  Thanks Dawn, her blog is ' sewuquilt2'   HERE

I don't know how she does what she does and works outside the home to.

Hopefully Braileys Mother will get better and be fine until we see Brailey.

She had the flu and hasn't been able to shake it off, so the DR. keep her out of work.

Miss Brailey's Quilt

Hi friends!
Cold here!
I found some black with pink butterflies and added it to the baby quilt.

Made another stack of doubles and added in some pink that i found in another scrap bag.
Tyring to use up some of my scraps this year.
They have named her  Miss Brailey , if they don't change their minds again.
I want to get them a scrap quilt made before the baby shower or i give her the quilt for Miss Brailey
She is not due until April, i believe , so i have some time.  The mother has had a bit of trouble with the flu and nearly losing the baby so i waited before i named the quilt.

I made up some more and laid them out.  I need to square them up and and sew a few together to see if i have enough made to be as big as i want it.

The sun was shining yesterday with the temps in the 50ths so i went for a wall, soaking up some sun.
Can't wait for spring!!!! 32 right now!

Cutting again

Hi friends!
The sun is shining!
First time this year!
My pile of doubles are turning into a pile of 4 squares.

I laid out what i had done already yesterday and i am going to have to go back to cutting because it want be big enough for a big baby quilt.

I though that was a pretty big stack but back to the old cutting up squares.
I think i will have to go threw my scraps bags to find some pinks.
Better get to it friends

New Baby Quilt

Hi friends!
Rainy day!
I started putting doubles together, taking it slow and easy.
My by word is fun this year!
Going to play more and maybe learn more if this 73 year old brain can!
And clean more!!!
The last few weeks i have sewed way to much and left out cleaning.

Still have a big stack of doubles to put together.
The mother has three more months and she is still undecided about her name.
