Hemming!

Hi friends!
Sewing the binding down!
I like the red and it plays off well with all the red fabric in the quilt.

I trimmed it all the way around the quilt.

Started hemming, maybe i will have a Friday finish!

I am already trying to find a block to use up more scrap for my next quilt.

Found a pattern i love on Podunkpretties Lea Anne's blog   HERE    
I love the blue and green quilt on her blog but don't know whether i have enough scraps in those colors.
Right now i am in 'use up the scraps' mode. Just ordering white to use with the scraps.

Quilting !

Hi friends!
Quilting this quilt.

This takes a while to do because i am doing rings around my flower pattern, echoing around each bloom.
Trying some new patterns!
I need more patterns than flowers and leaves and hearts!
On my new table i don't have enough table to hold the quilt so it pulls to much. I need to change where i sit so it will hold it up better.
This machine needs its on table but we don't have the room for another one.
I only quilt for a little while because of the strain on my arms and shoulders.
Then i have to leave it for a while.
Getting old is not for wimps!!
It teaches you patience.

But i go back to it time and again.
I love quilting!

Sandwiched

Hi friends!
Getting it ready to sandwich!

I used some Green stripe fabric on the back.

This size works well on our bed , just spray carefully!

All done, cotton battening!
Next i will quilt it.
I am giving this to my Aunt Betty Jo because they found cancer again on her this past July. About the same time Hubby started having problems.  She had cancer about 25 years ago.
She works 3 days a week at Walmart and still does even through her kids want her to quit.

Our Family Reruion

this is Roxie with her pillow i made for her birthday, her birthday was Monday.

At the table enjoying the company of two of hubby's girls and , His sis and her hubby and our cousins from Texas and Blue Ridge.

We had the best time but today i am pooped!

Flimsy!

Hi friends!
My fourth block, another one i had already made i had to take out a square and replace it with another. So now i have the 4 to put my flimsy together.

A flimsy!
Just the right size for a good lap quilt.
Since we are having a reunion here tomorrow , i want get any sewing done .Just house cleaning and cooking and lots of talking .
So maybe Wednesday i will get to make a sandwich out of it.

Hi friends!
I have three of the last 4 made.
Hopefully i will get the other one made and have a flimsy by Monday.

The other night i heard a loud noise , Hubby had the t v on and didn't hear it so yesterday we went for a walk in the woods to find it.

There it is!

It broke off from that!
Hubby said that was a hickory , maybe that's why their are no nuts !
They may be all dying!

Three Rows done

Hi friends!
I had already made 4 of these so Monday afternoon i joined them , pined them on and sewed them to make this.

I think i need one more row to make a good sized lap quilt.
I pressed it and here it is.

When i finished this i was just about out of white and my order didn't get here until Tuesday.

So now i am ready to make some more!

Good Night Irene Quilt.

Hi friends!
New blocks!
I put some together Sat. and used a lot of my white , should have gotten more today but it's Columbus day so no mail.

This is all i have left until the mail runs.

I put these two rows together , thinking maybe another two rows to make a nice sized lap quilt.

A scrap quilt , i am just buying white to go with the scraps.
I may make a few more today with the white i have left.
I get my white from Craftsy , they have white and all colors for a little over five dollars a yard.

Moving

Hi friends!
Haven't done any sewing yesterday or today. We are moving my sewing room into the front bedroom. The bed is on the back porch. the nmattress oand springs are against the wall so my sewing room is the middle os the room.
Sort of like a sewing room and closet!
But that way maybe it want take me weeks to find things after a family dinner.

We got hubbys grandmothers table out of the barn and sprayed it down and cleaned it up, now its my sewing table.

I put a table cloth over it and am moving in!

Good Night Irene Quilt

Hi friends!
It's slow going with these blocks, i have five done so far.
Really slow going!
I am working on Christmas stuff to so that makes it doubly slow.

This is the last one i did and the flash wiped it out.
I am still loving them so will get my tail into go and do some more.
I am also cleaning because this month is when we have family reunion. So that makes slim pickings for the blog.
We are planning a Halloween get together with hubby's kids here to so lots of cleaning to do.

Good Night Irene

Hi friends!
I am still making and trimming blocks.

That's a lot of blocks !
But i am thinking about two big lap quilts!
 I have trimmed them but not squared them up
Now its time to start adding right after i square!
Maybe i will get that done today but the sun is shining for the first time in nearly 3 weeks
One after noon it shined for a while but that is all in something like 18 days .

Just grey gloomy skies!

My block

Hi friends!
This is a good night Irene block!
Isn't she pretty?

I have wanted to make a quilt out of these every since i first saw one.

I pulled this from the Internet and may make them all like this. haven't made up my mind yet.
I love the first block because it has a simplistic look.
But i like this way to!
So for right now i will just make the block and decide by the time i get them all made.
I's not hard to take off those little corner blocks, after all i am well acquainted with Jack the ripper!
