Kim's Quilt

Hi friends!
I took one border off Monday and fixed some spots!

I used my new seam ripper and of course sliced my finger.
We went shopping in Chattanooga yesterday, me and sis.
I will post pictures of my loot later after i get pictures.
Had to buy some fabric! Of course!!!
I bough a bunch of fat quarters for our monthly draw at Q-Bee in different colors , i think Jan. is yellow. But i have them covered so i want have to cut them from yardage every month.
Plan to work on this quilt today so maybe i will make some head way with it.

Nearly there

Hi friends!
I worked hard on this last Tuesday but at ten o"clock knowing I would have to spend all day Wednesday cooking and cleaning , I gave up.
Whats bad is I took no pictures !
But on adding borders I ran into a Problem and knew I wouldn't finish it in time to give it to Kim before her birthday . Her birthday is the same day as mine! Last Friday!
Maybe this week I can finish it for her.
Plan on working on it today!

Hi friends!
All i have done the last couple of days is join these together.
I did sew the other string of blocks together and looked for a fabric in my stash to do a small border.
Haven't found any thing yet.
About any color would do but i am leaning toward black for some reason.

It think black would tie it all together.

 Hi friends!
This is the start of one end of this quilt , i have something for a small border to go all the way around..

Of course i will have to sew it all together to see just how wide the border has to be and i had though about small blocks on each side but its so wide with a border that just might do it.
Need to sew it together so i can plan the next step.

Hi friends!
The third row!

I may get these together by Wednesday. But i did make the blocks for the next row, on top and bottom.

These are twelve inch each so hopefully these rows will bring me up to a small border.

I want to do a smaller row on the sides of the broken dishes or envelope block.
I plan on making the blocks and putting them together and sandwiching them before adding them to these blocks. On the top,bottom and sides.
Maybe it will be possible to give this to her Thanksgiving.

Hi friends!
I decided on four across for Kim's quilt.

Added another one for the second row.
But although I have quilted three more blocks I still haven't quilted the fourth one to make the next row. Hopefully today if i have time with all the house work that needs doing.
This morning i decided to add some envelope blocks to the top, bottom and sides to finish it off.
Do you ever do that wake up and know just what you want to do ?

Over the weekend i put together four more blocks before running out of muslin for backing.
Will have to get some more today!

So at least i would  have some more to add together i quilted them!

Hopefully i will get some more Muslin and get some more together.

Hi friends!
Joined another row !
But i think i will add another block to each one.
The top one had to go to the couch because of bunching !
I will use my ripper to take it apart.

You can see it on the left block that i added.

Real good her but i took it out last night so should redo it today.

Hi friends!
Two of our great grands came for trick and treating.
Luke and Katy Jo.

Went yesterday and picked up my battening i ordered. Saved shipping by sending it straight to our local Walmart.
It's Pellon.

The block i had sandwiched is nearly quilted. When i get finished with it i will join three of them and add them to the other three that i have already joined.
Didn't get much done yesterday because Tommy's last aunt died , she was 92.
We went over and spent some time with her two daughter's.
She was my supervisor's supervisor  for 18 years . I got to know her sweet side.
After Tommy and i got married 20 years ago we went to visit her and she was so tickled that He had found me.
Tommy called her a couple of weeks ago and she was having a good day and they had a nice long talk.
At that time we had now idea she was so bad off.
She is happy now with her hubby.
