Quilting!

Hi friends!
Started the quilting on Friday but with all the places we went didn't get back to it until Monday for a little while but have used up three bobbins.
Of course It takes quite  a few more than that.

Maybe I can get it to the couch for binding by the weekend.
Hoping so any way.

Ready to Quilt!

Hi friends!
Got that battening I ordered.
So I cut some and finished Missy's sandwich!
Then I lugged it to the ironing  board.

First I starch and ironed the back to get all the wrinkles that I could get out OUT!

I would iron a while , go answer email's , iron some more!
But it now is in the chair in front of my quilting machine!
I will quilt on it off and on all weekend , around things we plan to do.
Hope to have it on the couch binding it buy next week.

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
Remember that pillow sham that I needed white to finish?

It's finished!
How ever When I added the fabric to the backing I found out I was liking a little bit of battening. About a 12 inch square to finish it.
So this past weekend I ordered some, suppose to get here today but not here yet.
I have used up all my scrap battening to make little things so I will just have to wait for it.
Should have it sandwiched by Friday when I post again.

Quilt's and Family

Hi friends!
Had a busy weekend with our family reunion and cooking on Sat.

Two of my cousins Jo in the back and our baby cousin Cheryl in the front.
I did get fabric added to the backing that I though was just right!
So maybe I will finish sandwiching today.
Need to get this quilted.and given to my daughter Missy. And now that I have  white fabric I can finish her other pillow sham.
Just have a little over a week and a half, wanted to finish this one this month so I can get started on Tonia's quilt.
I plan on doing her's and Abby's before the end of the year.

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
I finished sandwiching only to have a bunch left over of the top! I measured three time both the backing and the top but I was wrong! By about 8 inch's!

So I put it on a chair and added some more fabric to the side that run out of backing.
Going to put it on the bed after while and see if it's covered all over.
Maybe I will have time this weekend to finish sandwiching it and start ironing.
I did get some white fabric to finish the second pillow sham so Every thing is go.
Using up a lot of fabric that I have stanched that I wouldn't use  on a quilt.

Sandwiching!

Hi friends!
Laying it out to sandwich. This table is way to small but I will make do.
Haven't got the white to finish the last Pillow Sham yet but should get that this week.

Even after I measured and measured I still didn't get the backing quite big enough, so I will sew some more on before I finish sandwiching.
Their are so many colors in this quilt that no one will every be able to make one just like it.

Just in case you forgot this is the whole top! Well with out the finishing squares!

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
Sewing a 15 inch strip of fabric onto each side of the backing for Missy's quilt. When I sand-wick it want to start at the bottom so I want lose any of this.

Need Fabric

Hi friends!
When I started on the second pillow sham , I realized I needed some more white fabric. I will pick up some the next time I go to town.
I went looking for some fabric to extend the backing I had picked.

I added this across the bottom. So now I am looking for some more fabric to take care of the sides
I need 15 or 16 inch's on each side.
Maybe I can get the sides on and sandwich it soon.
Since Mother's Day is this weekend I may not get any sewing done.

Missy's Pillow Shams

Hi friends!
Pinned to sew together.
The first one anyway!

Measurement's 20 by 36.
Must make the next one today!

I measured the backing I had then measured the quilt top, need to add 20  inch's to each side   for the wide and 15 for the long. Last night the top  measured 107 by 113, different from what i did before! But still big! Making it a little larger so if it slips still have plenty.
Going to look for some fabric to use.
And get the other pillow sham finished today to.
Then I will sandwich it some time this week and start quilting.
Maybe get it done this month.

Second Pillow Sham

Hi friends!
No sewing was done at all on Sat. because we were gone most of the day. So after Church yesterday I worked on Missy's other pillow sham.

Working on making them the exact same size.
Since these came from my head and not a pattern.

All I need on this one is a trim of white around it. And of course the backing.
Will finish that and maybe get the backs on today. Got to add to the backing before I can sandwich.

Hubby is cleaning out the garden, just planting a small one this year , I think ! He could change his mind.

Pillow Sham's

Hi friends!
Working on pillow shams for Missy's quilt.

Going to have to make her backing to because the sheets I have want be big enough.. This measures 106 by 116, I think. A Calif. king is 108 by 102 so I may need a sheet and a half.
