Aden's Quilt

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!

I showed you this Monday  but i have only done a little work on it sense.

This is just laying together to see if it will fit right.

Here they are sewed together.   it think it's wide enough because i am going to border it with brown for the second border and cowboys for the inside border.

Blogger is being mean today and just want do any thing you want it to.
I am getting tired of fighting with it so i will call this done..  Maybe tomorrow thing's will be better. Have a great day!

Aden's Quilt

Hi friends!
I started Aden's quilt last week.

Making a 'i spy' quilt for his 3th birthday.

Two row's completed and then i made this for the center piece.

Him a sailboat!
Enjoying making these great grands a quilt for their big boy beds.
He has a little brother now

This is baby brother Eli and i made him one before he was born!
In a couple of years i will make him a big boy quilt to.
They are the prettiest boys.

Friday finish!

This is my Friday finish!!!

This is a close up after i washed it and sewed on the label.

I hope she loves it , she has seen it already in pieces but not the finished quilt.  This is after i sewed the binding down  for it's couch pictures.
I finished the binding about 2 o'clock in the morning when i couldn't sleep one night this week.

Dresden Quilt

Hi friends!
I added borders on both sides of The Dresden quilt.  That should make it fall about right.
I like my quilts to hang off the side a good 12 inches so you can use them as bedspreads.

That is about right!

I added a small border on the top and bottom. and quilted all of them and sewed my binding down.
Binding was easy because i only had enough for it out of one fabric.

It takes a lot of fabric for a guilt this size.  I have probley used 12 yards in the top and a king sized cotton batten which cost more than poly.   And Sis gave me a lot of muslin so i used that for backing.
if i didn't have that i would have used a sheet for about 15 dollars at Walmart.

Dresden Quilt

Hi friends!
Beautiful but hot!
Three of theses rows are sewed together and the next one is ready to be sewed on.
I worked on it yesterday trying to get Thu with it by this coming Sat

 You can see it's going to be hugh.  Just not enough fall on each side.h

so some borders i will add this week and get them quilted and the binding on.
Maybe i will be thu by this weekend.

Dresden Quilt

Hi friends!
Cool cloudy day!

I have been busy on my other quilt's lately so not much done on this one, just put together another row of blocks. This will be the third row of four .

`You can see 4 rows of these will be a long quilt! I will put snowman borders on the sides to make a good fall down each side and maybe a little border across the top and bottom.   I want to have it finished by the ninth of August so that i can give it to her then.

Hoping to get more done on this quilt before the weekend.

Dresden Quilt

I got half of the middle of the quilt done this weekend.
It's going to have 12 of the blocks sewed together so it should be 95 or 96 inches long.
That's plenty long enough.

Maybe today I can sew more together.
I have a couple that I sewed together earlier that didn't catch good , they are in the living room waiting for me to take them apart.

Snowmen Dresden Quilt

Hi friends.
Beautiful day!
One row done!!!
It's going to be pretty, just three more and i can add the borders.

This is what i am going to border it with.   It sparkles and it's full of snowmen so she will like that.
Plus it's the only fabric i have left big enough for a border.
It should be a really big quilt.
Each block is 22 by 24 inches and there will be 12 of them, maybe nearly as big as a king size when i get through with it.
Good thing i am using muslin on the backing.

It falls off the bed some now but i want at least a 12 inch fall on each side.

Dresden Plate Quilt

Rainy day!
I finished quilting all 12 of my blocks Saturday.

Then i took pictures of it with the fabric that i had enough left of to do the saching.

This is the one i decided to go with and use the lighter fabric for the border when i get that far.
Now is the hard part , putting the pieces together with saching so that they look good.
Got to get to work friends.

Dresdan plate quilt

Hi friends!

Beautiful day!

Yesterday i fixed up 4 blocks and made a sandwich out of them.

Then i got this one, the 12th block, ready so now i have 12 in all.

Maybe i will have time to fix some more blocks for quilting tomorrow.

We had a Dr. apt. today in Rome and came back and Tommy pulled and i shucked corn.

It's looking better this year.
Got a lot of work to do tonight!

Snowman Dresden Plate quilt

This is the 11th block of the 12 block quilt.

As you can see i just need one more to have a flimsy, thinking about a border for the sides out of the sparkling snow man fabric.
We spent the morning at the eye Dr. office and hubby got a good report. We go back in 4 months and then we will be released..  I said we but it's him!

Dresden Quilt

Hi friends!

Cloudy!

I have been working on these and now have eight done, that just leaves 4 but i was running out of the background fabric.

I ordered some more  Moda Snow from from "Pink Chalk fabrics" Sunday and i got it today.  here
is the link to their shop if you need any thing in a timely fashion. That means i have six yards just in the background fabric not counting all the fabric i bought with snow men on it. And people think200.00 dollars is to much for a quilt!!! Just think at least 6 yards go into the back plus battening and them binding is another yard.

Don't they look pretty all together?

When i get the other four done i will sach around each block after i trim them down so they are all the same size.

Making blocks

HI friends!

Beautiful day

I think three will be just right with saching and a small border, it already hangs off the side of the bed.

Just nine more to go and i will make up my mind how to proceed.  Need to check and see how much backing i have on hand.

I didn't get much sewing done over the weekend, didn't feel good. What little sewing i got done was done yesterday.

Dresden Block

I made another one the other day. These are so much fun to make.

I have to make up my mind soon how i am going to quilt them.

I know they are boring to you because they are made out of the same fabric..

Hoping to get a lot of work done today while hubby cut the grass.

I was thinking about starting another quilt today, i will show you what inspired me
Isn't this a great block?  If i make it i am thinking about making it bigger so it want take so long to make it, it would be for us but where i would put it i don't know!!!!
