Kim's Quilt

Hi friends!
I added another block to this quilt.

I want to mix up the directions they are going.
Wednesday i am suppose to get more Battening to use in this.
But i have three more put together and have quilted two of those.
When i get the third one quilted i will do another row.

Also quilted this!
I used scraps of the same battening.
Just need to add binding and hand sew it down. Getting some done on my Christmas list.

Hi friends!
I tried this saching for the middles!

This is the fabric I used, it's one yard of thirty's fabric.
I think i like it better than the yellow.
It might have disappeared in the design.
I put together one more yesterday but haven't quilted it yet.
Hoping to speed up working on this so i can start Missy's ! Her birthday is in Feb.

Hi friends!
I quilted the three blocks that i had sandwiched.

I found some fabric they may work for the sashing between the blocks. Each block measures 18 by 22. Nice big blocks.
Maybe this one:

I have another that i want to see if it will look better before i make up my mind.
Some thirty's fabric that i bough  a yard of. I will let you know !

Missy's quilt and family reunion

Hi friends!
Still cutting for Missy's quilt, her birthday is in Feb so hopeful i will get it finished for her by then.

Look what came this morning. I ordered from quilted twins. three of their fat quarter bundles that are $5.50., some royal blue for Jarod's quilt and some red and yellow for Marks quilt, that i am working on at my other blog.  HERE
And of course me some Christmas fabric, You know i love Christmas fabric.
Yesterday i gave Roxie her birthday present but didn't get a picture.

I made her this plus three micro-wave cosy's. And gave Eddie two for him to use in Texas. We had our reunion yesterday.

We had a great time.
Now to concrete on Christmas.

Kim's Quilt

Hi friends!
Have you ever woke up at 3 A m and though , i hate that quilt!
Well i did and i have racked my brain trying to come up with a way to join this quilt the way it will look old and I  will be happy with it.
So Sat. I took some of the blocks and decided to GAUG them.

I put three of them together  with backing and battening and now i need to get some more battening to finish some more off.  I had though a pale yellow for sashing but i may use white, what ever  i use it needs a very light color. Maybe even a soft blue.
But I will let you know what i come up with.

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
I am fussy cutting for Missy's quilt.
She loves horses so this should be perfect!

Going to have to really do a scant 1/4 inch so his nose shows!

As you can see i have cut another small stack besides these. Going to cut some more

Tatum's Quilt

Hi friends!
This thing drags for some reason!
Had more trouble with it than all the others combined.

My stack of micro-wave cosy's and i have one more cut!

Cut these for Tatum's quilt yesterday to.
I took a scrap of rose fabric to Walmart but couldn't find anything in the quilting section to match.
I guess i will have to look on-line!
I wanted to get started on it and that would hold me up so i may just use the solid rose for it all

Tatum's Quilt

Hi friends!
Started cutting on Tatum's "Sooner" quilt.
This is their colors! Rose and cream!

I pulled these fabric's to see if they would be "rose" enough. I think they will work fine.

I am planning on using this pattern but loosely! Going to make a long Twin for her dorm room.

Hi friends!
The top row is not sewed together! But i have them almost finished.

I could go ahead and sew them together and add sashing to the top and sides later.
May do that this afternoon.
I made one more sashing last night.

But need at least two more to finish and add.
 I spent a little while yesterday working on 2 1/2 inch squares for Missy's quilt to.

My gallon baggies getting pretty stuffed but it is going to take a lot more for a king sized quilt and pillow shams.

Got two sides on this block last Friday.

Cut a few more 2 1/2 inch squares for Missy's quilt.

I will start putting them together soon.
Hope to have five and maybe six large quilts finished by Christmas  for Christmas presents.
I have slowed down for some reason!

Today

Hi friends!
I squared up another block and worked on some more sashing.

But it's going to take more than this. i just have the top done so far.

All i did yesterday between getting my hair cut and going to Q-Bee;s was cut some more 2 1/2 inch squares for Missy's quilt.
I have a good sized freezer bag full but it will take much more than that to do this!
Making this with Dawn HERE . She wanted people to make this with her.
And Missy loved it so i will make it for hopefully her Christmas present.
She wants pillow shams to go with it and i think i will start making them for each quilt.

Hand Work

Hi friends!
I got a little done on Kim's sashing yesterday, spent the weekend getting  some hand sewing lined up for if we lose power from Irma.

Got this one ready plus this one is ready to quilt so maybe if the power stays on today I will have it ready to finish binding. I am really liking this one!

I can always hand quilt the first wheelchair quilt.

This is a lot of work but should be worth it in the end.

I got one of the next blocks with a side finished but must have forgotten to take a picture.

You would think I cut myself with a rotary cutter but no!
I have pricked my fingers so many times with tiring to learn hand quilting that I am wearing Band-Aid's!

Addie's Quilt

Hi friends!
Yesterday I gathered every thing I needed and took it out on our enclosed back porch.
I keep a table set up out there for sandwiching.
I had picked out a sheet for the backing. Light pink!

I figured right quick that there was to much poly in this sheet!

This kind likes to crawl! I used one years ago in one of Kim's quilts and hated it!.
So maybe I will get some muslin next week when we go to Hammers sale for a backing. Not going to finish it this month any way.

Quilt Top!

Hi friendsThis is where I left off!
I cleaned Friday and then Sis came over so didn't get any sewing done  on this until Sunday.
I cut my borders and attached them, just small strips of the black fabric.
I measured and it measures 90 by 96! Should be a good size. A little bigger both ways than the chart says.
After washing it , should be just right.

Nice fall on both sides.

Just right!
Maybe I will have time to sandwich it today but I don't see how I could possibly finish it before Friday so I guess it will be a finish for next month.
