Hi Friends!
A jig saw puzzle!
Hopefully this was the hardest part!

Got all my points made !
At least I feel like that is a big part of this quilt.

I need to make some four squares for the border when I just want to do some mindless sewing.

That will be  a lot of four squares!
And lots  and lots of 2 1/2 inch white's.

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
I added a strip of squares on top of the second t-shirt. Then I started cutting white 2 1/2 inch squares for the other four white points.
 Then started to lay them out !

I have all the pieces laid out and now just to sew them up!
After this step it should be mostly sewing strips of squares to get enough to cover a king sized bed. Maybe it will get easier!

Missy's Quilt Squares

Hi friends!
I have been sewing strings of squares for Missy's Quilt.
Going to start with the next two points next. I may round up some more 2 1/2 inch squares out of scraps soon. I hope the two gallon freezer bags will make it all but just in case.
Since I Have to clean up my room I am sure I will find lots to cut up.
My sewing room is in a mess! You can't sew with a mess it's distracting.
I think I sewed four or fine of these strips of squares before It got close to supper time and I had to quit.

Hi Friends!
I finally got the next points finished !
Two more to go! So I decided to extend it upwards.

There is where I am putting the other t-shirt!

I added a row of squares on each side of this t-shirt.
Now I feel like I am getting some where!
Need to starch and iron it good and add some more today.

Missy's Quilt

Hi friend!
It takes a lot of playing around with this part of the quilt!

More like it but still off just a little.
I have a picture of the quilt on my big computer but it's in the other room so I spend most of my time walking back and forth.
I worked on it for over a hour last night and am still not happy with it. Going to try to sew it together this afternoon. Just as soon as I fix what's bothering me.
Pictures help with spotting what's wrong!

Started putting together one side Yesterday.

My point is not right!

That's what I wanted .

Two points! Need three more of the two points sewed together before I can make any headway on joining 2 1/2 inch squares to get some where on it.
Maybe the next one will be easier. Stay warm folks

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
I cut the pieces for the sides of the quilt center but then my center was to small. 
So I made it big enough to fit the blocks around it.

I have to find a spot for this to but didn't want to cut it smaller.
Maybe up above the center?
I will work it out when i get there.

Last night it was 11 with windchill's of below zero.

Missy's Quilt

Hi Friends!
I am hoping these at least last a little while making this quilt.

That's a whole lot of two and one half inch squares!
Especially doing it in King sized.
I finished cutting up her shirts and as I go on this I will cut up lots of scraps in my stash.
Since I will be working on other quilts I should make plenty of scraps to cut up there to.
I want to spread out her fabric's all through the quilt.
They are saying snow tomorrow so we ran to town and gassed up my car and picked up a few things.
The Ingles here was full and usually it's nearly empty. Everyone  buying before the snow I guess.
It's just suppose to be maybe a inch but people around here doesn't like driving in the snow!
We want our Ga. weather back instead of Alaska's
I think it's warmer in Alaska.

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
Still cutting shirts for Missy's quilt.

Doing a lot of fussy cutting for some of the squares/
It take's a lot of 2 1/2 inch pieces to make a king sized quilt.
I have one gallon baggie stuffed full to over flowing  now working on another.

I've cut at least half of this pile of shirts up.
My plan is maybe to start putting it together this weekend.
If nothing gets in the way of it.

Kim's Quilt

Hi Friends!
Kim and Richard came over yesterday and I gave them their quilt. She found lots of fabric she loves!

My bright sewing room windows looks like the sun shining over her head.

I cut quit a lot yesterday on Missy's .
Going to get a start on it now that i have finished with Kim's.
Maybe this one will go fast !
But it's a king so still a lot of work!

A Finish!

Hi friends!
Finally a finish !
Sewed the binding down yesterday and put it into the washer.

I hung it up wrong but it was so cold outside i didn't change it.
Just got a picture and ran back in.

This is how cold it is here. That's a bag of water with a penny in it. Froze solid!
Suppose to keep flies away in the summer. And sense we live with Chicken houses and cows near by we need them all summer.

Kim's and Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
Got the binding sewed on and trimmed.
It's now on the couch!

Been busy cutting up Missy's cotton shirts for her quilt.
New years Eve  Hubby called me out side!

Someone's house was on fire on the ridge between us and town. Between the time he saw it and I got out there The fire department had already got there and was hosing it down. He said at first the smoke was black.
Feel sorry for people losing their home's right now or any time but it's just so cold now it's awful.

The Girl's Quilts

Hi friends!
I had quit working on Kim's quilt until after Christmas so I could finish my Christmas sewing.
This is one of those quilts where you take one step forward and two steps back!

Also cut a little on Missy's shirts.
So back to working on both.

Here is the picture of all the ones that went to the nursing home. I am forth from the left. Sis is third and my neighbor is on the other side of me.

Hi friends!
Working on adding interfacing to the back of some t-shirt's for her quilt.
Already have it ironed on to this one.

Using a damp kitchen towel to add some moisture.

I wish I had a iron that got really hot like the one that tried to kill me! But this one will do , just takes a little longer.

Missy's Quilt

Hi friends!
Cutting 2 1/2 inch squares! Need lots for a king sized quilt.

This is one of the t-shirts she gave me and i am going to try to cut it like a t-shirt quilt with interfacing just the right size to match several of the rows.

Still got a couple of shirts to cut up!
Maybe I will finish by Easter and give it to her. No idea when Easter is!!!!
Maybe i will finish Kim's by Christmas Day and give her's to her.
Still lots of Christmas sewing to get done.

Kim's And Missy's

Hi friends!
After I finished quilting the borders I found a spot that needed the seam ripper!
Isn't that the way it always happens?

Missy brought me a bunch of her cotton shirts to add to her quilt, so I am de-boning them.

This is how our house looked on Sat. morning after the snow.
So thankful we didn't get any more than we did , some  people in Atlanta are still without power
today.

Kim's then Missy's

Hi friends!
Started quilting on Kim's Quilt , should be finished soon.

I bought this Monday for Missy's quilt. I will start her's as soon as i finish Kim's
She brought over some cotton shirts for me to cut up 2 1/2 inch squares and put into her quilt.
In them was two t-shirts with horses on them she wants me to put on it.
Now just to finish Kim's

Kim's Quilt

Hi friends!
I worked on Kim's quilt all day Sat. and finally got the borders sewed on and sandwiched.

I run the top piece on the top of the quilt and pin the bottom on the bottom and sew them down.
Press them over and put battening between with basting spray.
Bottom and top first then the sides.
Then i just have to quilt four borders.
Those side borders are just nine inch"s wide.
So thankful to be the far!!!
Every thing that could go wrong with this quilt did.
