I finished this one Wednesday. Thursday we got up early for my eye surgery and I slept most of the rest of the day! This morning I had to go back for him to check it and they dilated my eye and he said it was still swollen so I may not get any sewing done today.
But tomorrow for sure!
I think I will make a pillow that fits these when I get to where I can see.
Have a good one
I worked all day Saturday putting on interfacing and putting in zippers and got finish with both of the last two Christmas pillows.
I still need to get zippers for the four spring pillow covers.
Maybe I can get those finished by the end of the week.
It needs a pillow that fits inside it. Mine is to fat and short.
Should be fine with a better pillow in it .
Three more of these and then I will get 4 zippers for the next four, they are more spring or summer like.
I think they will look great on Abby's couch.
I sat down and started taking out the zipper yesterday, they are not hard to take out.
Took it all out and pinned in one side to start over. It will be much easier to work with like this, more like putting into the back of a dress, which is all I have ever done with them before.
Look what came in the mail for me today!
Chris and Amy found it some where and got it for me.
It has a little drawer under it.
I've never seen any thing like it! Isn't it adorable?
This is a first for me. putting a invisible zipper into any thing thick. Long years ago I put them in the back of my dress's.
I may change my mind and put these one in the long side instead of the end.
Not liking the lack of room to work in the end.
This was the only color they had in this size but that would be fine except for not having the room to work.
I planned on sewing it in and them moving my needle over to get right on the edge and then the color wouldn't show.
But having problems so I may take it out and start over.
It's a long time until Christmas decorating time . Thanks Goodness
I made a pillow to see how it would look, made it 13 by 17 but it measured 13 by 19 but it works for what I needed it for. Of course the seam takes up some.
They are not going to be large pillows.
More like travelers pillows, I will text Abby and find out of she wants me to do it different.
They are going to be great pillows but just small. Of course if her men are like her Daddy a big one would just end up in the floor.
Abby asked me if I could make pillows out of these. I prices pillow forms that size but they are high so I am going to make some myself. at least one to size by. It's 13 by 16, you can't buy that at Walmart.
They will make beautiful Christmas pillows.
They are very Christmas looking. When I go to Walmart I will get some invisible zippers.
I finally finished this quilt and took it to my neighbor.
She has had 30 something treatment with radiation. Now they are putting on a pill for five years. She said it was a rare cancer and her Dr. had never even heard of it before. She had to consult with Dr.'s in Atlanta to find out how to treat it.
I think she liked it!
if it gives her some comfort then I am happy.
I got a little quilting done to it after working on it.
Not a whole lot but I an going to have to take out some that I put in a first.
You know how slow that is.
But at least the last quilting I put in was good!
I was afraid I was going to have to carry it to the shop.
It's the best quilting machine of all the machines I have had.
Last night I finally got time to work on my quilting machine. Then I made me a small quilt from folding muslin over a piece of battening and pinning it.
I would do something to it and sew a little till I finally got it to do right. Just hope its still in that frame of mind today and I get time to do some work on that quilt.
I had cleaned and oiled it when I finished all those quilts before Christmas so maybe it was just tired! I did 5 last month.
I rethreaded, changed the needle cleaned the tension on the top and then re-cleaned it.
Don't know how I missed a wad of fuss and some thread hung in the machine .
Maybe it's happier now!
Have a good one
I finally got it sandwiched!
Hoping it will be pretty when it's finished!
I started to quilt it last night and ran into all kinds of trouble.
See that thread dangling down? It's just doing that here and there!
I know it's suppose to be the top thread so I rethreaded it and changed the needle.
I have cleaned it after that quilt-a-thon I had in Dec.
I will play with it to see if I can get it straighten out today!
Let you know how it comes out.
Have a good one
