Monday finish!

Hi friends!
Bad weather coming!
I finished my "SWOON" quilt.
It's on our bed, I used cotton battening and is light and not to heavy, just right for summer.
I love this quilt but the next one  will be for some else.    We have got quite a few for us already.
This is going to be  my next quilt for Melissa Dawn, I hope!
I am going to   to give it the old college try!!
These are the fabric's that I an going to use in it.
The pattern is "Exploding Star".   I couldn't find any thing but paper piece pattern for it and I don't do   that so I found this that is tri angles but it's only a picture!!
I am going to use it to make it!!!!
Have a great day friends!

Still Swooning

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
Looking at binding!!
I chose the pink-red,
I think I will like it the best.  Still have some work to do on it, a puffy place that I don't like because of sewing the back together first.   And finishing the binding!
I wish I had done a better job of putting together blocks but with what I had to work with , mostly pinks, I guess I want change them now.  To big a job and since it's for us we will like it just fine!
From now on when I try quilting blocks and putting them together I will sew the backs together first , by far the best way!
Not long now and I will have a finish and since this is a lighter quilt we will use it for our summer quilt.
Hubby always runs the air at night so we will need it.
Have a great weekend friends.

Still Working

 Hi friends!
Rainy day!
I have been working on my swoon quilt but the last few days have been all about  getting ready for Easter and   recovering from that.
I have the border's on and sandwiched and am nearly finished with quilting them.
Just like a little and then I can sew on the binding.
Right after I find the binding!!!
Can't wait to finish this and get it on my bed.
Have a great day friends.

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I got both borders on yesterday.
I am thinking a small border across the top and bottom and then quilt the borders and it will be ready to bind!
That is right after I dig up a backing for the borders for it.
Maybe to day!
Have a great day friends.

Hi friends!
I made the other border yesterday and now I will sew them on today.
I have a problem, I have used what I was going to use for backing for this quilt for some thing else.
All I need is backing for the two borders! I plan on using left over fat quarters for part of it.
I will look and see what I can come up with today.
The other border!
I just have it laying there to see how it will look.
Hoping to finish this and put it on the bed for Easter.
Got to get busy and get some cleaning done before Easter or at least put thing away so people can set at the table and eat.
I leave the dining room for last because I hate to put up my sewing machine.
Hope you have a great sewing day friends.

Border for the swoon

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I started my border yesterday!
I made this in just a little while.
I think this will do the trick!
I pinned it on just to just an idea of what it will look like and to see if it will be long enough.
I think it will work just fine!
There is one spot on the quilt that I am going to take apart and fix.
It puckers a little and I don't want that, it is where I sewed the front first, I like the sewing the front on last , it just works better.
Have a great sewing day friends.

Borders for the swoon

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
This thing measures 84 inches in length, so I will put a small white border on the top and bottom.
Maybe 3 inches on each end.  That will make it 90 inches!
I have been cutting out squares to do the middle of the side borders.

It will take quit a few of these to go 84 inches.  It will use up most of my fat quarters..
I plan on a 5 inch white border on the side , then after that these squares and maybe a 5 inch border on the other side of these squares.  That will make a 14 inch border on each side.  That should make it 84 inches across.
That should make a good sized queen sized quilt.  If I don't think it's wide enough I will add to my last border and make it  7o r 8 inches.
Have a great day friends.

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I am working on my swoon quilt today!
Putting my blocks together, this time I am joining them in the back and then joining them in the front.
Trying to add the last two blocks.  I haven't worked on it since last weekend because of working on other stuff and Dr. visits.
I am going to make my borders white with some of the fat quarters added to it.
Maybe I will get that done this weekend and can show it to you Monday.
Have a great weekend friends.

More Swoon

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I pinned both of my last two blocks and tried some thing I haven't tried before !
I sewed the backs together and then pinned the front and I think I will use this way again if I make mine by quilting each block again.
Saves you tring so hard to get them flat.
I though I would make my borders like that but I think now I will go with white and colored squares made out  of the rest of the fat quarter's.
I think it will go faster and I can make or try to make an exploding star quilt for Missy Lou .
I have only made 2 big quilts this year , well 2 and two thirds'  That's counting this one.
Got to make some thing for Sis and Sis-in-love for their birthdays.
Don't have any idea what?
Have a great day friends.
