Bentley's Big Boy Quilt

Hi friends!
This is what i have in mind for his quilt.
Have tractors showcased like pictures.
If he still loves John Deer when i get through with it he will love it.
He just had his 2th birthday, time does fly!
Just seems like yesterday when he was born.
He has grown so much but still has those curls.
He is the energizer bunny!
Always moving!!
Wish we were young enough to stay up with him but those days are past and I  did keep many a grand in my younger days.
He's a cutie.
Have a good weekend

Bentley's Big Boy Quilt

Hi friends!
I shopped for some colors to go with Bentley's John Deer fabric yesterday and found both of these.
Thank goodness they both will match because i didn't take a scrap with me to match with.
I got the fabric with big tractors with a faint idea of showcasing them  for Bentley because he loves them.
Getting way to many quilts started but hopefully i will finish some soon and get back to just doing 2 a month..
Going to get started on this right away , make a block to see if it's what i have in my mind.

This is my Christmas present from my kids , just now getting to Jo-Ann's to use them. Jo-Ann's is over a hour away from where we live.  I needed a few notions so i got those but looked for those new blades , they didn't carry them so i will look else where..
Have a good one

Cutting for this Pattern

Hi friends!
I cut a little yesterday but how do you figure what wine bamboo is? That's a color in this pattern.
Mostly i look at the picture to determine what color to use where.
Wasn't really in the mood so i just cut a few on the cutting list.
Really hard to figure out what to cut because of the odd names for each fabric.
I will try to get all the rest cut out today and then try to make heads or tails of the instructions.
Hope the picture is true to color so it will look like the picture when i finish it.

Another Project!

Hi friends!
I was looking for interfacing yesterday and ran across this.
It's a small 19 by 19 quilt!
I need or though i had another one but had give up looking for it.
So i am thinking this will be my next project.
I have decided to take the back of my Aunt Eddies quilt , have one month to take it off put another on and quilt and finish it. I don't like what i used , for some reason it folded over way to much to fix.
This is the quilt i am talking about!
Should be able to do it in time for Family reurion!
Have a good weekend.

Problems and the Garden

Hi friends!
A problem!
So last night i took all the stitching out of that part of the quilting.
I will re-quilt this part as soon as i see what made it do that.
Hubby is finishing planting tomato's and peppers today, planted seeds yesterday. My knees want do that plus when i went to my dermatologist last Thursday she put me on a cream on my face and I  can't be in the sun.
Of course we get along much better if he plants and i do the rest. He has planted a garden for years and wants it just right according to him.
I always really laid the orka thick and he thought that was awful but now he does it that way to. Orka is hard to get to come up this early but maybe we will get a good stand .
He will go out there and throw away all but a few because orka does best with a foot between the plants.  It's just hard to get it to come up when you want it to. I have even trans planted orka to get it where i wanted it .
Have a good one

Ready to hem!

Hi friends!
I finished quilting Sat. after noon and put it on the bed to trim after i sewed on the binding. I used the same fabric that i used in the last border.

Here i had finished and my gran daughter was ready to trim hers This was her first try at sewing and she loved my feather weight. But who wouldn't?  They are the best thing out there to make straight stitches, and nice and quit.
She will be 15 in August and once she learns to drive she wont be interested in sewing. Maybe i can get her mother interest in quilting one day.  I can only hope!

I just like a little finishing but with my back hurting can't sit for long any where. I feel better moving around so i do!
One more time should do it and then I will have to find a good binding fabric.

I managed maybe 15 minutes on it last night. then i had to get up!
Doing stars !
I have to fight my hands they want to make petals but i saw where Colette had made stars and had to try making them myself.
Have a great weekend

Still quilting

Hi friends!
Still quilting.
I think i have finished half of it so far.

I am trying to do stars, my first time for that!  But i really need more patterns .  I don't like every inch quilted to death , just enough to hold it all together.  Maybe i will finish before Friday since i am going to have to lay off the cutting for a while. My back has had a fit!  It doesn't act up much in the last few years but i have had problems with it since i was in my 20es.

Quilting

Hi friends!
When it was time for the race to come on i started quilting my quilt.  Ran into trouble right off. I had oiled my big brother after my last quilt but hadn't cleaned her.
It would not go!!!
So i had to take her apart and clean her good.
There was so much lint under the feet dogs that they couldn't drop.
It had been nearly a month since i had used this machine but i quilted Alisha's big quilt and it packed it in there.
After that i didn't have any problems but it got late and i quit a little after nine o'clock.
I spent all my quilting time cleaning, but i should have already cleaned it so my bad.
Have a good one

Ready to start quilting

Hi friends!
I am all set up to quilt this this weekend.
I have tried every thing to quieten this machine and it didn't work so i just bring her back into the dining room so i want drown out Tommy's t v.
I think it turned out to be more of a full quilt instead of a lap.
Maybe i will finish this weekend but who knows, Alisha [granddaughter] is suppose to come and spend the night tonight and we are going to sew. I have been cutting 3 inch squares for her to sew with.
Have a great weekend

Sandwiching my Quilt

Hi friends!
Yesterday i ironed this to get the wrinkles out.

You can see it was wadded up!
I spread the backing out and then the battening and put the ironed quilt top on it to make sure it was wide enough. Then i turned half of the top back and sprayed the battening , smoothed out the top and pinned. Then i did the same thing to the other half.
I folded the part i already had done over so i could have plenty of room to work.
Then i ironed it again!
Maybe i can get it quilted or at least started by Friday.
Have a good one

Adding Borders

Hi friends!
Just got my yellow border on when we had company last night. So that's all i got done to this.
Next i am going to add back that grey mixture fabric.
It's just going to be a Lap quilt!
This is the way it will look when i finish the borders. That yellow will make the sampler part stand out. Like a light show casing the blocks. At least that's what i am hoping for.
Have a great weekend
