Top finished!

Hi friends!
Finally got this sandwiched after having to add to the backing many times . Only to find after I got it sandwiched that I will not only need to add to the backing again but the queen sized battening wasn't big enough either.
So I will add some more of each before I start quilting. Hopefully I can get that done today. Wish me luck because not only to I have a sick Hubby but he has thrown his back out to!!!!

Daughter's Quilt

Hi friends!
Got that row of plus blocks added to the other side.
I am thinking of just one row on each side of 3 inch squares , color then white because it's so long now it really doesn't need to be any longer.

See like this chain of white and colored squares. And then maybe a strip of white and sandwich!
Right now I have one that needs sandwiching and two nearly there., I ordered some more battening but it want be here until next Tuesday if they are right.
I have followed orders going this way and that and taking way to long to get here.
Hopefully this one will get here when they say.

Daughter's Quilt

Hi friends!
I did a little on this quilt's borders.

I made a bunch of cross blocks and laid them out on one side to see how many it would take.

Sewed it together and pinned it. And sewed it onto the quilt.

Need to do the other one now.
I just didn't get a lot of sewing done this weekend.
It was a lazy weekend for us .
After I got to hot at the ball field where they had the graduation I just didn't have any get-up-and-go. But a lazy weekend now and then is good.
Sat. we had company, Kim and Richard. They had had some work done on their bathroom and brought pictures. After Mark graduated we left and Tommy got me a milk shake to recover. Good Hubby
Not on my diet but then we eat out yesterday to !  I had broiled cat fish! Better for you.

Daughter's Birthday Quilt

Hi friends!
 I got the center of the geese off but just ripped one out and turned it around.
This is turning into a really big quilt. I have the top folded under a lot!

The next step is to work on the side borders.
They are plus blocks!
Mark graduates tonight so tomorrow I will start those!
My grand's are growing up so fast!
We just have 8  out of 22 that are still in school and two of those graduates this year, want have but 6 after next week! Our youngest is 14!
We are blessed with smart grand's! And all good looking to!

I made a few of these , it calls for 16 so I am going to lay it out after while and see  if it the right scale!

This is our summer quilt. A swoon quilt I made a few years ago.
I made it from a bundle I won on a blog and used it all in it. even put some on the back

My Daughter's Birthday Quilt

Hi friends!
I added the rest of the burgundy solid strips , this part will cover a queen sized bed.

The next step was white strips all around. after this is geese!
Just across the top and bottom so maybe by Wednesday I will have some of them finished.
I also cut up some small pieces of fabric for tumblers and three inch squares for future quilts.
Trying to get my sewing room cleaned up so I can tell what I do have!

Karens Quilt

Hi friends!
I got the four made for the other end! 
Sewed them together and added them on! Just two more rows and the border is all I will need but its going to be hard to do and will take a while.

A  white  strip and a burgundy one will cover the whole top of the bed.
I just got it added on the right side.

See the next step? I made those blocks a little bigger than the picture so it only took four instead of five.
A upper and lower row of geese is  after the next strips!

Hi friends!
This is a up close of the green looking fabric. See the burgundy in it? It's not a lot but it's there.

I finally got some sewing done yesterday after 4 o:clock.
Tommy was going to work in the yard but was so tired from working all day while I was gone on Monday he just couldn't make it. So we went about 3 and bought groceries.
After we got back he mowed the south forty and I sewed.

I finished the forth block and added them on the bottom. Glad this whole quilt isn't just those two inch squares.
It's takes some time to make those blocks!
Maybe by Friday I will have the top row finished, I hope!

This looks much better!
More in line with all the rest of the top.

One more !
It will take four on the bottom and four on the top before the next step.
These stop it from being a square. Very ingenious. The second one looks green but it's the same fabric that's in the main part. Just has some burgundy in it. These take a while to make but maybe by the end of the week I will have six more done and added.

Made up just enough to go down this side.

Sewed them together and added that to the quilt top.

The next step was white all around.
The next is blocks across the top and bottom for length.

I made this out of 3 inch squares I had left but it's going to be to big!
So I guess this weekend I will cut some 2 inch and put one together and see how that fits.

when I got a few made I checked to see if I had enough for that row then sewed them on.

Hi friends!
I spent Friday afternoon cutting and making four squares.

I was checking to see how many it took to added to the bottom and top.

I attached it to the main section.

I had enough made up to add the top to but had to cut some more before I made the side ones.

I laid a few out to see how many more it would take. It's trail and error when all you have is a picture of a quilt that my darling daughter wants.
