New Quilt

Started my next quilt!
It's a Christmas Present  quilt.  I am loving this.

Are these not beautiful?

This is like playing, making these blocks.
They are so pretty.  I am thinking about doing the saching in Christmas green with a different color making a fiend ship star at the corners. Haven't decided what color the stars will be .
They may end up being left over Christmas fabric so i can use it all up.
This is the fabric i got for a early birthday present and some a sweet blogger sent me.

Handmade Christmas Challenge

Nearly finished

Hi friends!
Nasty day!
I finished up the quilting yesterday and sewed the binding on and started hand sewing it down last night.

I love the green binding that i used, some more of Sis's Christmas present to me a couple of years ago.

I did flowers on each block on the front and tried my hand at random but didn't like it.  I don't think i will use it again!  But i need some more patterns besides flowers and leaves.

I should get through with it tonight.  It looks like it will be tomorrow before we see any sun to take pictures.
They are calling for sleet this afternoon.  Not much but enough to make me want to stay at home and sew.

Christmas Quilt

Beautiful cold day!
Glad you could drop by.
Started quilting my 97 by 105 inch Christmas Quilt.
Practicing my free motion quilting on it.
All i am slightly good at is leaves and flowers, need to work on randon quilting
I will have to find a video showing how you do that.
They make a video for every thing.

I got some done last night and then cleaned the bathroom and kitchen and mopped both rooms.
Tonight is the treadmill again!
It's so big it will take me a while !
Love my quilting gloves, they make all the difference!

Christmas Quilt

So glad to 'see' you.
I sandwiched my Christmas quilt but it's second to Brad's and D.J.'s quilt which i am quilting now.

I still love this quilt!

I use pins and spray baste, it's all basted now.

Now just to get finished with quilting the other quilt so i can work on this.

Flimsy!

It went from this to this !

I added another row on to the bottom and put 3 inch borders all around it.

This is a close up of the fabric i used.

It's now a flimsy just waiting to be sandwiched!
I have two that i must sandwich today to get them ready to quilt.
I will be a busy bee today.

Christmas Quilt

I decided to cut out 7 more blocks to go across the bottom of my quilt.

Just sewed stack!

All nicely trimmed and ready to go!

This will be the last blocks going on my quilt top.

And this is my border fabric!
I love it.  Sis did well picking fabric for me a Christmas quilt.

Christmas quilt

I had sewed the forth one together on Monday.

I am loving it!

Here is the 5th row!

This is with the 6th row sewed on. It has good hang on each side but it needs another row or a border to make it long enough.

I think this will be the border but haven't decided whether to add more blocks yet, will let you know Friday.

Christmas Quilt

Beautiful day!
I had a wee problem Sat. I started sewing my fifth row and after the second one i figured out i hadn't trimmed them. So had to take the two apart and trim them all.

Another shot of the three!

Now with the forth one added.  I can work on  the fifth row
Should get that row together today or tomorrow.
I am liking it more and more!
Can't wait till i get through with it and see it on our bed.

Our Quilt

Hi friends!
Cloudy nasty day!
A few more of these has been made.

I trimmed and sewed these two together, 2 more and it will cover the bed so i stopped and got some cotton battening for it.
I already have the backing so as soon as i get all the other blocks made  and all trimmed and sewed together it should be a good queen sized but i may add a small border.  There is always some shrinking when you wash it.
I will use this quilt during our thanksgiving dinner and for Christmas.
Yesterday i got out our winter quilt that i made last year.

I had bought a roll of poly from Jo-Ann's and when i got down to the bottom of the roll it was really thick so i saved it and made us a really warm winter quilt.
It's just a layer cake and a couple of fat quarters that i thought worked well with it, and some solid green.
'Little Apples' by Amelia Huey was the layer cake.
Of course we have to have hubby's quilt across his cold feet.

Christmas quilt

Hi friends!
 Cloudy day !
Made up six more last night, six more and i will have all the blocks made.

Sewing them together.

I may work on it again this afternoon!
We are waiting on a call about hubby's new glasses, they said 3 or 4 days and it's been over a week.
 I think this will be done before Thanksgiving, at least i hope so.

I got these for a early birthday present and sweet lea Anne

 sent me some more when i won her give away and won a charm pack. Now i have plenty to start another Christmas quilt..

Our Christmas quilt

This is just four rows!!!
I have two more rows cut out, of course these are not sewed together yet.

I stood in the door and made both of these.
Think after while i will sew them together,  I need to make some more blocks to.
It's going to be a beautiful quilt!!
I need to trim the saching a little before i sew them .
It's going to be a big beautiful  quilt.

We have been to see a Dr. today .  The story of our life!!!
But we are lucky to be as healthy as we are to be 72 years old.
