MY QUILT

Hi friends!
I made another strips of blocks and them remembered that i was running them six up and 5 across instead of six across.

laid the other one over it and realized a block on each was wrong!
So out come "jack the ripper" and of course i did what i always do!

Hubby says i have to check to see if my blood is still red!!!!!

I changed the wrong way blocks and sewed the two rows together.

Then i put together another strip and added it on!
I don't have enough blocks finished to do all of two more rows so i guess i will be putting together blocks today.

This and That

Hi friends!
That amount of squares are just right for our bed!
It has a good hangover on each side, I am going to add a border any way.
It should be nice and big after it's washed.

I have sewed some more together but haven't worked much on it because i have  been working on other things

I got through with this and it will go into the box for next years Christmas.

It's a good size for the couch around Christmas time.

Hi friends!
I have been trimming blocks and sewed some together.
Spring is in the air and has made us want to work so yesterday i drugged out my carpet shampooer and clean all our rugs

We have a few big ones in the house and they all needed cleaning.
While i was doing that Tommy got rid of fire ants in the yard so the great grands wouldn't get bit. When they come for the Easter egg Hunt.

It's a never ending battle because they just move, hopefully out of the yard.

My quilt

Hi friends!
I got two more put together, i think that leaves me 2 more
to do. I will have to spread them out and see again.

We had company yesterday so i Didn't get much done.
Red haired girl and her Hubby came over, they don't come as much since Bentley was born and they are working 5 . 12 hours shifts a week.
I think that is just to much straight time , it makes people cranky.
It's hard to get every thing done in two days.  You sure don't feel like doing any thing after working 12 hours.

Sewed a few together yesterday even through i am still not finished making them.

Quilt today

Hi friends!
Still plugging away!
I think i need 5 more to start sewing them together.   I did a little trimming yesterday but still have some more to do. I have my fabric picked out for the border. It's nearly like this so from a distance you can't tell the difference.What's the saying if you can't see it riding by on a horse it doesn't count!

My Sis gave me this last Saturday when she came over and some more battening. She brought a few scraps but i think she is getting  nearly finished with cleaning out her sewing room from her house down there.  She retires May 29 and she can't wait!!!!

I can't either!!!

weekend

Hi friends!
I think i got 5 or 6 blocks put together last week, what with trying to get my computer back the way i want it after the e-mail hacking last week.

Maybe i will complete the rest this week and start trimming each block.  Most are over 14 inches so i am hopeful they will trim up good.
After yesterday's trip across state to see our grand daughter in a play we are  wore out and just plan on resting today!
That's what old age does to you, today we are sore and hurting but so blessed to still be here.
My daughter's picture was on stage on the set that was "Harvard" and Chris built some sets for it. They get parents involved in every way , Chris and Amy saw it to many times to count so they were tired to.

Disappearing Hour glass or envelope quilt block

Hi friends!
You can see i need 6 more and then six down the side , which comes to 12 blocks all total to finish the quilt top.
I have been scraping up every bit of my fabric trying to get them all cut out.

This is the six envelope blocks that will finish up the top part but not the side.
I have another 6 cut out but have done nothing to them.
But at least i have them cut up!!!!  With another line down the side and a small border all around it should be plenty big enough.
I need to buy battening and backing for it but that is still a few days away.

My Quilt

Hi friends!
I started three more blocks!
I am trying to stretch my fabric to make it work for as many blocks as i need.
I looked last night for some more of this fabric on line but couldn't find any!  I have a big piece slightly lighter that i may have to use for the border.    If i can get three more blocks it might be enough.

I have enough for a row on the top and hoping to piece enough for another row all the way down the side. Then i wouldn't like a whole lot and could put a small border on..

Time will tell and i will keep trying to find some more of that fabric.

Two more blocks

Hi friends!
I got two more blocks done yesterday.

I get tired of making the same blocks so i am slowing down. I have 4 more cut out and am hoping to get them done before this weekend.
I am hoping a few more after that will do it. but we will see.
Two more and i will have another row and i plan on doing another row down the side . May do a border if i have any left!

Nasty grey day!

I got some sewing done on this over the weekend.
Cut a bunch more to do!
Sis came over for the first time in a month. She had been sick but she brought me a bag of fabric , thread, and lots of binding for baby quilts.

Of course if i live long enough i will use them all up with all of my grand kids.

Working!

Hi friends!
I made up all 4 of those blocks yesterday, well i made one earlier but made 3 yesterday.

The pile is getting bigger all the time, it's going to be a beautiful quilt. Maybe i will have time to work on it this weekend. I have been in a cleaning mood so i cleaned all the things on top of my cabinets

Their is a lot of stuff on top of my cabinets, and it was greasy!

So yesterday i tackled my big lower cabinet that had pots and pans that i haven't seen in years in it.

For some reason my camera refused to add those pictures but it took hours to empty and clean it out and clean up all the old pots in the back.

So last night i was wore out!!!

Blocks and snow?

Hi friends!
We had a long day yesterday on the road but last night i cut and sewed these together. So today i will make them up into 4 blocks, hopefully.
I may spend the day looking out the window if it starts snowing.
They are saying 3 to 6 inches but i am not holding my breathe.

I got these yesterday to try my hand at applique!
I hope they work!  I got them in the kids glue section of the store because Walmart doesn't carry the kind you use in Applique back in the fabric.

Making Blocks

Hi friends!
I made 5 of these blocks last week and now have 16 made up.

These two are much smaller, when i first saw Jenny Doan's video i got some fabric and made a block and it's been hanging on my wall ever since just waiting for me to start the quilt.  Calling my name all the time.
I need at least  16 more to finish up the quilt .
This is not the final way i am going to sew them together.
These  blocks   may go in something else . The red one was just a 'see how i like this' I don't think either one  will go into the final quilt. Maybe a table runner.

A tidy little stack.. Loving it so far!

Miss Brailey's latest

Hi friends!
I made a few extras for Miss Brailey.

Her two burp cloth's! I had never made those before but Dawn did so i looked up a pattern and made some.

Ain't they cute?

And a pretty pouch with a zipper for her things.

. Maybe her mother will need these!

My blocks

Hi friends!
Cold snowy day!
I made up a bunch of envelope blocks to work on.
Don't know whether i will feel like working on it. Was up all night freezing and  hurting.
Med's must be from China and they are tying to kill me.
It will snow real hard and then the sun comes out. At least it's not laying. Talked to my daughter a few minutes ago. They are going to be off work for the rest of the week due to the strike on the west coast.
Can't get parts!
They are sitting in the harbor because of the strike.
My son and three of my grands and his wife Amy are sitting in a cold house with nothing to heat with but a fire place. I know he always cuts some wood just in case.  Just praying they get the power back on before tonight when the wind chill is suppose to be--15 here and possibly lower where they are.

Another block

Hi friends.
Well we went to town because Hubby needed pills and to go see Dr. Jeff.  The roads were fine no ice but our "great" weather men are saying icing tonight. So may not leave the house until Wednesday or Thursday.  They are saying near zero in the next few days , hope we don't get ice and lose power.  We will be warm and i have plenty of books to read so we should be ok. We are blessed with Gas heat and our own tank that they just filled up last week.
I made another block yesterday, just to busy with other stuff to get more than that done.
But this year is suppose to be fun so i am taking it slower.

I love making these blocks!

 Think i will make a few more right now!
